In 1994 the Austrian Concern Hamburger/Mosburger/Dunapack opened a branch in Romania. The main activities of the branch were importing and selling corrugated cardboard products on the Romanian market. The presence of the firm in Romania promoted the growth of the sales volume for the corrugated cardboard products, reaching 10.000 tons in 1996.

As a result, between December 1996 and May 1997, the Dunapack Rambox has been built in Sfântu Gheorghe. Representing the joint investment of several companies of the Concern, it is one of the most modern corrugated and micro-corrugated cardboard-made-package factories in Romania. At the same time it is the biggest foreign investment in the Covasna county, with a total value of 15 million USD, creating over 170 new jobs in Sfântu Gheorghe.

The factory is reinforcing its position on the Romanian market, proving its potential and viability. The sales volume is continuously growing, thanks to the Dunapack Rambox full pack of services. Dunapack Rambox the leader of the corrugated cardboard in Romanian industry, with a 19% market-share. The factory has branches in Cluj-Napoca, Piatra Neamt, Braila, Sibiu and the Republic of Moldavia, as well. 10% of the production is being exported.

In November 2001 Dunapack Rambox SRL obtained the ISO 9002 quality recognition certificate and in December 2003, the certification of the integrated quality and environment system - ISO 9001 and ISO 14001. Thus, the company is aligned to the European standards, it improves the quality management system and increases both exports and competitiveness.
